Eating pizza and playing card games with the team was fun, but we all came to the sisson house that night for one thing; finding out who our class 5a football opponent was. It seemed like years had gone by watching other teams find out who they played and the hosts interviewing some coaches, but finally 4a was up just maybe this would be the year we went 4a and had an easier was to the state title but as teams showed up sterling was mia. 5a then came on the first 16 teams came on with no sterling but finally we show up as are with chicago julian as home. Their record was 6-3 and we soon found out that since their new quarter back became eligable they have been undefeated and he is one of the best qbs in illinois. Practice flew by and as our first round game became closer i began to relieze that this could be my last game at sterling high school. But then all i had to do was win so we could move on. Our team wanted to win more than anything i could see it in their eyes before we took the field. After 48 tension filled minutes later we came out winners, we couldnt be happier. Soon after we found out we play the two time state champs montini, i guess their streak ends saturday!

4-Peat
After a huge win over Chicago Public League Favorite Chicago Curie, we began our week in preperation for an NIB 12 opponint Lasalle Peru. This had to be a big win for us to start our 4-peat, we have won conference championships 3 years in a row and we are going for our 4th, something a sterling team has never been able to do. After beating Lp, we played dekalb a team from the east side of our conference. a team from our side had not been able to beat the east until we won.

water,water,water
This morning while taking an ice bath i had the unfortunate expirence of dropping my andriod smart phone in a bath fulll of ice cold water. As you can see this was i problem for me because it broke almost immediatly, i tried to dry it out but as we all know there is no hopes in that. So after calling my dad from a friends phone when i got to school he told me to take the phone home and he would try to go to us cellular before we left for our game. This made me pretty relieved and i went on through the rest of the day, I went to pick up my phone during 6th hour. To my suprise my dad had gotten me the new phone that just came out that day. And in all the confusion at the end of the day i reliezed i didnt eat at all, but we won our football game in OT to state ranked sycamore and i ended up having a good night after all.

Thinking like a kid
Sitting in with the second grade class at Franklin Elementary School , I notice something very weird, the kids actually like to do homework and enjoy it. Some kids even ask for more! This is unheard of in the High School world, where asking for more homework is like asking for more dentist appointments. The thing I have found out is that doing simple calculations is a challenge for the young kids; for example four plus six takes them a while to process as where older kids just know it by heart. Most of the children use there hands to count, others use pieces of blocks or any other item to count there way to the answer. As it may be cold from the ac at Franklin , the high school is a different story, with us getting out early Thursday and now Friday because of heat ratings. In every classroom you can see the students wave there folders back and forth just to feel a circulation of air on there hot faces. But the classroom isn’t the hottest area; the lunch room is blazing hot because of all the food cooking and many students packed in. This kind of weather is abnormal for this time of year; most of us are not used to the scorching heat of summer in the fall.
